Specifications & facts.

SW96 Sorceress is the first unit in the new miniseries of high performance cruiser launched by Southern Wind in May 2016. She was commissioned by a yachtsman who previously owned an 80′ custom carbon yacht and is a keen racer. This owner was looking for a larger performance yacht to use in both coastal and transoceanic races and for bluewater cruises.

SW96 is one of the latest additions to the SWS family. This yacht’s sleek hull lines designed by Farr Yacht Design and general concept drawn by Nauta Design express the company motto: “simplicity is the essence of good design”.

The project’s lightship displacement of 56,7 t grants excellent light wind speed with a manageable rig size. The hull has full waterlines and straight end diagonals, a wide, low transom and full forward sections. The deck hardware is optimized for both short hand performance cruising and offshore racing.

The interior layout features a large saloon above the engine room which is accessible through a full height control room. The owner’s cabin forward and four en suite guest cabins amidships offer privacy for all on board. Crew quarters include two crew cabins, two heads and a spacious galley that opens onto the crew mess.
